Our Fellows
We currently have four Fellows. The fellowships last for one year and each one costs approximately $35,000, inclusive of wages, taxes, and benefits. Qualified applicants have received a Bachelor's degree in Child Life or Psychology, they have completed an internship at a pediatric hospital, and they are prepared to obtain their board certification in Child Life Services during their fellowship.
Our Current Fellows
- Katrina Baliva graduated from Utica College of Syracuse University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology-Child Life and did her internship at Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of New York Presbyterian.
- Emily Laipple graduated from Butler University with a degree in Psychology. She did her child life internship at Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women and Children in Honolulu, HI.
- Danielle Patterson is a graduate of Indiana University with a degree in Pychology/Sociology. She did her internship at Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville, KY.
- Justin Rozniak graduated from Concordia University with a degree in Family Life/Psychology. Justin interned at Lutheran Children's Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN.

Our Alumni
- Jenny graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, and did her internship at Rush Presbyterian Medical Center in Chicago. In July of 2006, after completion of her fellowship, Jenny joined Cincinnati Children’s as a full-time Child Life Specialist.
- Lauren graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor's degree in Child Life Services and did her internship at Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital in Connecticut. Upon completing her Josh Cares fellowship, also in July 2006, Lauren accepted a Child Life Specialist position at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
- Tiffany graduated from Utica College of Syracuse University in Utica, NY in 2006. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with an emphasis on Child Life. Upon completion of her Josh Cares fellowship in June 2007, Tiffany joined Cincinnati Children’s as a certified Child Life Specialist, working with the inpatient cardiology units.
- Kim graduated in 2005 from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida with a Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Parks and Tourism with an emphasis on Therapeutic Recreation. Upon completion of Kim’s fellowship, also in June 2007, she accepted a full time position at Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital in Orlando, Florida as a Certified Child Life Specialist.
- Cara is a graduate of Purdue University and completed her child life internship at Advocate Lutheran General Children’s Hospital in Park Ridge, IL. Upon completion of her fellowship she accepted a position at INOV Children's in Fall Church, Virgina.
- Jill is a graduate of Calvin College in Michigan and completed her internship at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Upon completion of her fellowship she accepted a position at Mercy Children's in Kansas City.
