Meet Carlie

Carlie is a ten year old girl awaiting a kidney and second heart transplant at Cincinnati Children's. Despite her serious condition, she is energetic and loves playing board games and doing arts and crafts with her Josh Cares Fellows. Carlie's family lives out of state and is not able to visit often. To help Carlie feel connected to her friends, her fellows helped her create a life-sized poster of herself that hangs in her classroom at school during her absence and also set up Skype sessions with her classmates so she can feel a part of their day. While her family wishes they could be with her more often, they take comfort in knowing that she shares a special bond with her Josh Cares Fellows.
