The Chain of Love for the 2015-16 school year raised over $26,000 to fund 1,200 hours of individualized care for our patients!
The Chain of Love is the Josh Cares Student Advisory Council’s signature service project–entirely planned and implemented by students. Schools, youth groups, and other organizations of all ages conduct their own individual service projects to raise funds by selling $1 links of a paper holiday chain. For every 20 links of the chain connected together, a child will benefit from an hour of 1-1 time spent with a Josh Cares Child Life Specialist. All of the individual chains are then connected together into one massive Chain of Love and displayed during the month of February at Newport on the Levee to raise awareness for Josh Cares and to recognize the efforts of area youth.
The success of all of the individual projects will celebrated at a private banquet to honor the support and contributions of our Student Advisory Council members and other student and adult volunteers who have supported Josh Cares and/or the Chain of Love this past year.
